Efficiency EL Module Inspection System

New in 2016:

Technology leader pi4 introduces the 4th Generation of electroluminescence inspection system. Fully automated and reliable failure detection on multi- and mono-crystalline cells are outstanding features. It is designed to be engaged before or after the lamination process in highly automated production lines.


With its short cycle time of only 19s/module including loading and unloading modules(EL Efficiency EL High Speed) it is applicable in every production line. As well as offline in the laboratory, the EL Efficiency is a highly precise El inspection system.

With enhanced functionality like the AEVAL-Software (Advanced EVALuation), even the most complex quality guidelines can be implemented.


The "Power Loss Estimation" (PLE) software feature is a reliable forecast, about the maximum power loss that may be caused in future filed operation by defects detected in cells today.


The pi4 "Repair Station Manager" (RSM) supports the operator effectively  to replace defective cells and strings.

Software

Pi4 is an image processing specialist. We have developed a unique technology for reliable defect detection for multicrystalline cells. Furthermore our machine software is easy to use and offers an intuitive user guidance. Based on the defects detected, cells are automatically classified by our advanced  tools AEVAL (Advanced Evaluation) and Power Loss Estimation. Much better and more consistent then any skilled operator could do.

The pi4 Repair Station Manager supports the operator with replacing defect cells and strings. Once a module is feed out to be repaired before lamination, the Repair Station Manager displays the right EL image with indicated defects and power loss calculation for every single cell to the operator.
